Our Treatment Plan
When you choose the PG Pelvic Floor & Core Rehabilitation Centre, you will receive personalized treatments where our therapists will educate you on your condition, provide basic exercises and modalities (if appropriate to help stimulate pelvic floor activation), offer functional exercises and activity progressions, as well as provide one-on-one troubleshooting sessions. Most of our patients come in for an average of one session a week for five weeks with a physiotherapist and then work on maintenance with a home program. The follow-up program includes integrating core exercises with pelvic floor and functional activities which vary according to the activity level of the individual.
Internal examinations are only used as part of a troubleshooting session, and are booked upon therapist recommendations or patient request. For more information on our treatments, just give us a call.
Our Modalities
Biofeedback
Biofeedback is an effective way to retrain weak pelvic floor muscles. It gives you instant and continuous information about how your muscles are functioning.
Real-time ultrasound
This is used as a form of biofeedback where you can visually see the movements of your pelvic floor muscles in real-time.
External stimulation
This helps patients with timing and developing the neuromuscular link.
Internal stimulation
This kind of stimulation is used only after an internal examination where the therapist can detect no discernible contraction.
